Who can become a member of PaTLA?

Regular, Sustaining, President's Club & Champion of Justice
Any person who is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, is engaged in representing litigants, and is committed & devoted to the concept of a fair trial, the adversary system, and a just result for all litigants, the accused, and those whose rights are jeopardized.

Out of state attorney
Must meet above criteria, but is licensed to practice law in another state. Primary office and mailing address must be outside of Pennsylvania.

Law School Professor
An attorney who is engaged full-time in teaching courses at a law school.

Public Interest Attorney
An attorney who is engaged full-time in work for a governmental or public service agency.

Judicial Law Clerk
A graduate of a law school who is engaged full-time as a clerk to a judge.  Judge's name & mailing address must be provided on application.

Paralegal
An employee of a law firm or law department (full-time) and an auxiliary to the practice of law which is consistent with the objectives of this Association.

Law Student
Engaged full-time in an undergraduate course of study at a law school.
