House Dems calling for freeze in state subsidy
to docs in light of new study, newspaper reports
(5/18/2004) - The Allentown Morning Call reports today that Pennsylvania House Democrats want to freeze state aid to doctors in the wake of a new report that indicates physicians may not be fleeing the state in large numbers, contrary to their longstanding claims otherwise.
The article quotes House Minority Leader H. William DeWeese (D-Greene), who said, “'I'm not sure that we can justify providing further financial incentives to the medical community if they are not being up front about their situation.”
