(3/8/2023) - The Pennsylvania Senate will vote tomorrow, March 9, on SB 9, which provides a legislative vehicle for a constitutional amendment on damage caps. The vote is anticipated to come early tomorrow evening. At least 30 amendments to the bill have been offered, mainly dealing with the issues of caps and non-economic damages.
The Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association is opposed to any bill that will limit damage awards because it would provide undue protection for companies that willfully produce products or follow practices that can harm the public.
