Update on state judicial races -- Baer wins;
Panella & McCaffery win superior ct. seats

(11/05/2023) -- KYW-TV in Philadelphia reports that Max Baer has defeated Republican Joan Orie Melvin in the race for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. According to KYW, returns from 99 percent of the state's precincts give Baer 1,270,103 votes and Melvin 1,184,263 votes. The victory for Baer reduces the Republicans’ majority on the high court to 4-3.

In the race for Superior Court, where three seats are open, KYW reports Democratic candidates for Superior Court Jack Panella and Seamus McCaffery as winners while Republican Susan Gantman is leading Democrat John Driscoll for the third seat. In a tight race, KYW reports that Gantman has 1,117,222 votes and Driscoll has 1,112,335 votes.
