Court statistics show drop in WCAB, unemployment compensation appeals

2005 Statistics from Pa. Cmwlth. Court 

(2/6/2023) -- The Commonwealth Court has recently released its Statistical Report for 2005. According to the report, the number appeals from Worker’ Compensation Appeal Board decisions in ’05 has declined. In 2005, the report states that there were 582 appeals from WCAB decisions. In 2004, there were 679 appeals. There was also a reduction in the number of appeals from Unemployment Compensation Board of Review decisions—511 in 2005, down form 623 as reported in 2004. Overall, the number of administrative agency appeals declined from 1,865 (in 2004) to 1,628 (in 2005).

In addition, the number of new cases filed in 2005 (4,056) dropped 1% over the number of new cases filed in 2004.
